For Deltans, sending Uduaghan to prison is a battle of no retreat, no surrender
“You should ask Prof, where is the Silicon Valley? He took us to his hometown, Ibusa, for the foundation-laying ceremony of the Silicon Valley; to date, there is nothing to show that the project has commenced. He has contested the presidential election; he now wants to be a governor. I think he should start from his ward; he should contest the post of councillor…”
– A former Governor of Delta State, Emmanuel Uduaghan, responding to claims by Prof. Pat Utomi, how previous administrations in Delta State looted public treasury.
In saner climes, the likes of Udughan should have been confined to solitary life imprisonment in Gashua because he stole Delta State blind. A copy of the documents released by the founding Executive Secretary of Anti-Corrution Network (ACN) now Chairman, Senate Committee of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Otunba Dino Melaye, on how Uduaghan blew N3 billion in one day will always be a reference point anytime and any day.
Yet, such a man still have the guts to speak, when he has no credibility. This is why no credible person should take the anti-corruption positions of Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN) serious because he does not seem to be sincere. While he has turned to the National Assembly, Sagay has not seen any wrong committed by his Itsekiri kinsman whose eight years of experimental absurdities and wastage have left bitter pills in the mouths of many. Nigerians can now see the deceit when people claim to champion anti-corruption!!!
For many sincere Deltans, rather than James Onanefe Ibori (very unfortunate), it is his successor and cousin, Emmanuel Uduaghan that should be imprisoned. For many, the determination to achieve that feat is a battle of no retreat, no surrender.
