Nemanja Matic fires warning to Manchester United teammates after dropping points at Stoke

Nemanja Matic warned Manchester United must win matches like Saturday’s draw at Stoke, if they are to be champions.

The Red Devils dropped points for the first time this season as they drew 2-2 at the Bet365 Stadium.

United return to Premier League action against Everton next weekend and Matic is eager for a response, reports the Manchester Evening News.

“It was a tough game. To be honest, it’s always a tough game when you come to this stadium,” he told MUTV.

“Stoke are a good team, so it was difficult, but we managed to get a point.

Lukaku put United ahead at Stoke, but Maxim Choupo-Moting twice found the net to ensure the Old Traford team dropped points.

“If we want to be champions, we have to win games like this because in these games, if you win, you are champion.

“We have to know against teams like this you have to have a little bit more, you have to be concentrated and of course we’re not happy with a point.

“It’s always important if you can come from behind, and I think we showed spirit. We had the lead in the second half but they scored a goal from the corner kick.”

United has enjoyed a perfect start to the season winning their first three matches, sored 10 goals without conceding any in the process.
